Portal Restaurant

Reflecting the passion of veteran restaurateur and owner, Antonio Correia, Portal showcases the finest Modern Portuguese cuisine with a tranquil dining environment and unobtrusive service that are the hallmarks of this restaurant. Located in the heart of Clerkenwell, the Portal Bar and Restaurant delivers an intimate and stylish dining experience.

The Portal Bar is the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif of a chilled extra-dry white port or to sample the extensive wine list. The bar also provides a relaxed eating area for those preferring a light meal or snack, offering petiscos – Portal's extensive assortment of Latin tapas.

Urban Spaces have joined forces with neighbouring restaurant Portal and seasonal drinks providers The Gin Garden, to create ‘The Portal to the Urban Gin Garden’ for the occasion of Clerkenwell Design Week. We will be running a range of events and workshops across from the 20th-22nd May

Over the three days, artist Jane Young, craftswoman Jo Davies and photographer Bronagh Kennedy will exhibit their work in Portal’s stunning St John Street eatery, while visitors to the courtyard will be able to sample bespoke Sipsmith Gin cocktails. Meanwhile Grow London, The Contemporary Garden Fair and the team behind the Affordable Art Fair will provide terrariums from The Urban Botanist and sky planters from Boskke.

To ensure there is a special artistic connection between the two venues, ‘Queen of Skulls’ Lauren Baker will be creating sculpture installations at both Portal and Urban Spaces’ Clerkenwell Road HQ

A whole range of workshops ranging from gin tasting to creating mosaic skulls to how to grow an edible cocktail window box will be on offer.
